EXPO23 was a rousing success. Now get ready for an even better Expo24!
In the words of Guild President Ed Neu, the 2023 
Woodworkers Expo was “epic.” Over 70 local and national woodworking retailers, tool manufacturers, lumber sellers, schools, organizations, and makers exhibited at the Expo this year. They shared information, answered questions, offered demonstrations (even a log milling demo!) and shared their passion for woodworking.

TOOL SWAP:
This year the Tool Swap really took off. There were swappers inside and out buying and selling hand tools and power tools, old tools and new tools, big tools and small tools, softwoods and hardwoods.
KIDS WORKSHOP:
We had hands-on fun for the whole family this year! The 
Minnesota Woodworkers Guild partnered with The Works Museum to provide kids with two adult-accompanied woodworking activities:
Become a test engineer to learn basic carpentry skills alongside staff from the Works Museum. (Ages 5-12).
Build your own “plinko” game with Minnesota Woodworkers Guild members. (Ages 5 and up can participate, alongside their adult chaperone).
MEET THE MAKERS:
The 2023 Woodworkers Expo featured numerous informal ongoing demonstrations of various woodworking and related arts by guild members and area makers. It was truly a great day of learning and sharing!
DOOR PRIZES: And of course some lucky attendees walked away with a wide array of door given out throughout the day.

Join the Minnesota Woodworkers Guild for the 5th Annual Woodworkers Expo on October 12, 2024
9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. The 2024 Expo will be held at the 26,000 square foot Progress Center Building at the MN State Fairgrounds.
More than 70 local and national woodworking retailers, tool manufacturers, lumber sellers, schools, organizations, and makers attended the 2023 Expo and reported great results networking and sharing their ideas and products. We welcome your registration to participate as an Exhibitor at the 2024 Expo.
Exhibitor Registration provides a display table or area at the Expo to promote your organization, craft, or business. Our standard display area is a 10 foot x 10 foot square, (10×10). Larger spaces can be rented by combining multiple areas.
- 2024 Fees:
$200 for each 10×10 space for business groups with more than 3 employees
$100 for each 10×10 space for all others

Thank you to the volunteers without whom the Expo could not have succeeded! This year’s event was significantly larger than all previous Expos, and we needed a lot of volunteer help. Next year be sure to check out the volunteer opportunities and join the fun. This year’s volunteers helped with all these tasks:
Expo Setup: Mark out vendor locations in the hall. Setup tables, the stage, posters. Help vendors; direct vehicle traffic in the hall, help them with their setup.
Tool Swap Parking Lot: Manage the outdoor parking lot in front of the expo. Make sure kids are not dropped off without adult supervision(!) Manage the tool swap, assign space for each swapper.
Kids’ Workshop: Check in kids for the 2 areas; the test engineer, and the project build. Work with The Works Museum Staff. Make sure all kids have an adult with them.. Volunteer at the kit build, help kids and adults put together the project.
Ticket Takers: Ensure all who enter have a ticket, which is obtained from the registration table. Encourage and facilitate a $5 donation for entry.
Expo Tear-Down: Take down tables, stage, poster. Help vendors; direct vehicle traffic in the hall, help them with their tear-down.
